Pasta Pomodoro (Tomato Pasta) Recipe
Ingredients:
1 c of butter (or margarine)
1 pc of onion; chopped finely
6 cloves of garlic (whole)
112 oz of tomatoes (Italian-style, canned)
3 pcs of bouillon cubes (beef)
2 tsps of salt
1 c of bacon; chopped
5 pcs of dried chilies (red, hot, small)
2 Tbsps of olive oil
1-1/2 c of grated cheese (Parmesan)
2 lbs of macaroni
Instructions:
Melt the butter in a saucepan then add garlic and onion; saute till onion has turned golden then add the tomatoes w/ its liquid.
Let it simmer above gentle heat for 90 mins till sauce has thickened. Add the beef cubes then season salt; cook till the cubes are dissolved.
Add the chilies and bacon; let it simmer for another half hour. Discard the chilies and garlic; add oil and stir. Cook the macaroni till ‘al dente’ then drain.
Place the pasta on a serving platter and pour over the sauce. Spread cheese on top. Toss them well.
